The Student Coaching Model: A Powerful Approach to Life Coaching

The student coaching model is a highly effective approach that can be applied to various areas of life coaching. This model, represented by the acronym “STUDENT,” provides a structured framework for coaches to guide their clients towards personal growth and development.
The focus of the student coaching model is to empower the student to take suitable decision. Let us see the coaching model one by one.
S – Sit facing each other without any table or any aspect in between, Try to create eye connect with the student, Let there be a friendly Smile. This creates a comfortable and welcoming environment for the student, allowing him or her to open up and build rapport with the coach.
T – Talk informal with a friendly voice. The coach engages in informal Talk with the client, asking about their name, branch, location, and hobbies. This helps the coach to establish a connection with the student and gain a deeper understanding of their background and interests. Slowly the, coach here will ask about the current situation and current problem he is facing.
U – Understand – The third step is to Understand the Student,Situation and the problem from a 360-degree perspective. The coach explores the client’s challenges, goals, and aspirations, taking into account various factors that may be influencing their situation.
D- Dig more and go to Deeper structure – Digging deeper into the client’s personality and the problem itself is the fourth step of the model. The coach uncovers underlying issues and explores the root causes, facilitating self-awareness and personal insight. Whatever the student says is from the surface structure. The Coach will try to move to the deeper structure to understand whether the problem is deep rooted, i.e the problem is in Character level or in the surface level.
E- Explore options to solutions : Once the problem is fully understood, the coach moves on to the fifth step, which is to Explore various options to solve the problem. This involves brainstorming and considering different approaches and strategies that could lead to a solution.
N – Negotiate with student to take up the best possible option – The sixth step is to Negotiate with the student about the best option. The coach discusses the pros and cons of each potential solution, empowering the client to make an informed decision.
T – Taking action – Finally, the coach and student decides on the proper action to be taken and plan to take action on the agreed points. This step involves setting goals, creating action plans, and providing ongoing support and accountability to ensure progress and success.
The student coaching model is highly beneficial for life coaching due to its structured and comprehensive nature. It allows coaches to establish strong connections with their clients, gain a holistic understanding of their challenges, and guide them towards effective solutions. By following this model, coaches can facilitate personal growth, enhance self-awareness, and empower clients to achieve their goals.
