What is Psychological Counselling?

Difference between Counselling and Life Coaching
While both counselling and life coaching aim to support individuals in improving their lives, there are some key differences between the two:
Focus: Counselling primarily focuses on addressing emotional and psychological challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Life coaching, on the other hand, focuses on setting and achieving goals, personal growth, and enhancing overall life satisfaction.
Approach: Counselling typically involves exploring past experiences, emotions, and beliefs to gain insights and promote healing. Life coaching takes a more action-oriented approach, focusing on the present and future, and helping clients develop strategies and skills to achieve their goals.
Timeframe: Counselling is often a more long-term process, with sessions occurring regularly over an extended period. Life coaching is usually more short-term and goal-focused, with sessions occurring less frequently.
Qualifications: Counsellors typically have a background in psychology or a related field and hold professional certifications or licenses. Life coaches may have various backgrounds and certifications, but there is no standardized licensing or regulatory body for life coaching.
