Day 2 Assessment

Answer All 25 Questions

Choose the best answer for each question. Answers and explanations appear only after submission.

1) What are the three main action principles used in Psychological First Aid?

A helper first observes the situation, then listens respectfully and finally connects the person with suitable support.

2) While approaching people after an emergency, what should a PFA provider look for first?

Several people are present after a serious incident, and the helper must decide who needs urgent attention.

3) According to the Day 2 training, which combination produces therapeutic listening?

The helper wants to listen in a way that helps the distressed person feel heard, understood and emotionally supported.

4) Which behaviour is the best example of active listening?

A distressed person is slowly describing what happened and needs the helper's full attention.

5) A person says, “Since the accident, I feel frightened and completely alone.” Which response demonstrates reflective listening?

The helper wants to reflect both the situation and the emotional meaning expressed by the person.

6) During Psychological First Aid, a person begins crying. What should the PFA provider do?

The person is safe but overwhelmed and unable to continue speaking for a few moments.

7) During PFA, a person of the same sex suddenly hugs the PFA provider. What is the most appropriate response?

The person appears emotionally overwhelmed and reaches out physically without first asking permission.

8) What are the three types of rapport building taught in the Day 2 session?

Rapport can be developed through feelings, ideas and the helper's physical presence or body language.

9) Which response primarily builds emotional rapport?

A person says that the event has left them deeply hurt and unable to feel calm.

10) Which response primarily builds intellectual rapport?

The person wants to explain how they understand the situation and why they believe certain choices are difficult.

11) Which behaviour best represents safe kinesthetic rapport building?

The helper wants their body language and physical presence to communicate calmness without violating personal space.

12) A person says, “I have decided to die tonight, and I have everything ready.” Whom should the PFA provider link the person to?

The statement suggests immediate suicide danger and the person may act soon.

13) A person has just lost their mother in an accident and is crying uncontrollably at the hospital. Which linking response is most appropriate?

The person needs immediate human support, practical assistance and safe connection following sudden bereavement.

14) After an accident, a person is bleeding heavily and appears confused. Whom should the PFA provider contact first?

The person's physical condition may be life-threatening and requires immediate attention.

15) A family has lost its home in a flood and has no food, clothing or safe place to stay. What is the most appropriate linking action?

The family's immediate practical and safety needs are more urgent than a detailed discussion of emotions.

16) What is a likely benefit of a guided relaxation exercise that progressively relaxes the legs, thighs, abdomen, shoulders, face and head?

The helper guides the person to notice and release tension gradually throughout the body.

17) Which instruction follows the progressive relaxation sequence taught in the session?

The helper uses gentle suggestions that move gradually from the lower body towards the upper body and head.

18) In the LIFELINE suicide-prevention model, what does the first letter L represent?

The helper notices distress, begins rapport and assesses the person's current state before moving to the next steps.

19) In the LIFELINE suicide-prevention model, what does the letter N represent?

The helper builds an ongoing support network rather than trying to manage the crisis alone.

20) According to the Day 2 training, what is counselling?

Counselling supports a client to develop healthier emotional adjustment, thinking and behaviour.

21) Which option correctly matches the counselling intervention with the type of empowerment?

The examples involve behavioural activation, examination of irrational beliefs and adjustment to bereavement.

22) According to the training, what additional area is included in life coaching?

Life coaching includes the three empowerment areas used in counselling and adds one more practical domain.

23) How many therapies are included in Emocare's Six-Month Professional Diploma in Counselling and Life Coaching?

The programme is presented as practical professional training covering multiple counselling approaches.

24) True or False: According to the training statement, a person who does not have an M.Sc. Psychology qualification can practise life coaching legally.

The question distinguishes life coaching from practising as a psychologist or providing regulated clinical services.

25) True or False: Emocare's training is approved by CTAA (UK).
