Day 1
Foundations of Emotional Intelligence
Understanding what Emotional Intelligence is and why it matters in life, work and relationships.
  • What is Emotional Intelligence (EI)? Components and different EI models.
  • Difference between IQ, EQ and personality; myths about emotions.
  • The three minds from DBT: Emotional Mind, Rational Mind and Wise Mind applied to EI.
  • Identifying triggers, emotional patterns and early warning signs.
  • Self-reflection exercises and simple awareness logs for the week.
Day 2
Transactional Analysis & Self-Awareness
Using TA concepts to understand our internal world and everyday reactions.
  • Ego States from TA: Parent, Adult, Child — recognising which state you are in.
  • Strokes from TA: positive and negative strokes; stroke economy and its impact on EI.
  • Life Positions from TA (I’m OK, You’re OK etc.) and how they influence confidence and trust.

Schema Modes, Healthy Adult & Action Plan

  • Recognising when the vulnerable child part is activated (hurt, shame, fear).
  • Strengthening the healthy adult mode for balanced, wise decisions.
